Firstly, I'd like to thank The Hiebert Clan for giving me these awesome gets:
An awesome addition to my boxed collection.
LOTS, of things have been going on with CrabLord.com and I am PUMPED to be working on projects and plug away at constant pixel-work. We have an on-going series called "Turbo-Runs" that are actually really fun to make. And since they're an enjoyable project, we're going to start pumping them out.
Here are the first two of the series:
Turbo-Run: Super Mario World
Turbo-Run: Mega Man X
Another "series" we've been working at are our "Fantasy Achievements" for classic video-games, which gives a modern feel to older games, and additional Crablord-made challenges:
Fantasy Achievements: EarthBound
Fantasy Achievements: MegaMan X
So THOSE are going to be out main focus for a while. We even have guests arranged for a few achievement lists and TURBO couch-sessions. So it's going to get interesting.
Finally, I'd like to announce something:
Might as well start the hype now...
So I'm making a video-game.... it's only been something I've wanted to do since I was like.. six-years old?..I dunno, Look forward to it. I know I am.
MegaMan X - TURBO!
- November 22nd, 2013
Alright, Round 2 of our ongoing "Turbo-Run" series. This run: "MegaMan X." The greatest action-title of the SNES library.
I've been practicing "MegaMan X" hardcore for the past few weeks, and figured I was ready for the official recording...
Room lighting and camera settings have been adjusted since the "Super Mario World Turbo-Run," So everything looks better.
We're not sure what game we want to rock next, but a few titles come to mind... we'll have to practice up first. Until then,
Have a good weekend,
Mercenary Kings: Halloween Treat.
- October 31st, 2013
(Possibly) Today only: Free "Pumpkinhead" knife in Mercenary Kings!
Haven't heard of Mercenary Kings? As of now, It's an "early access" game available on Steam. And it's blowing my mind.
If you're familiar with Gears of War, Monster Hunter, and Contra... It's practically a mix of all of them combined.
And the best part is that it's developed by Tribute:
Check out the link at the very top of the post to take a look at the trailer for Mercenary Kings.
Even though the game is in it's early stages, it's WELL worth the purchase.
Super Mario World - TURBO!
- October 14th, 2013
Back in July, I purchased a tripod. I wanted to test my tripod. My brother came over one day. We sat down to play some classic video games. I turned my camera on. We realized that we were going to spawn a new series of gameplay videos that last only a few minutes.
This is just the beginning:
It was an experimental video, Ive since purchased some better lighting and am more familiar with my video editing software... so basically, we've set the bar for future videos. We had fun recording our bro-time, and this has somewhat motivated us to keep at it. So look forward to some higher quality videos of retro gaming.
Have a good weekend,
Nintendo-64 games available for download on the Nintendo Wii
- September 30th, 2013
Back in May I started a rating system on all of the N64 games available on the Nintendo Wii "Virtual Console." (An online store for downloadable classic games). I spent a lot of time on it, so I might as well post it before the Nintendo Wii is ancient history:
I'm very surprised with the amount of amazing titles Nintendo decided to distribute in the Virtual Console. I made a point system based on game-play, control, graphics, sound, and replay value. Some of the outcome percentages are questionable, but it's a fair rating system that looks pretty good in the end.

"I ONLY HAVE ONE QUESTION FOR YOU... EXPLOSIONS??"
- September 4th, 2013
It's the end of Summer.. thus ending my beer spree, heat-stroke, and HOPEFULLY my Borderlands addiction.
Last year was my 'Summer of Dark Souls', but now I've had an obsession over Borderlands 2 over the past month and a half... It has to be one of the best video games I have played in a long-ass time (And surprisingly, the closest thing I can call an RPG, compared to today's modern RPG library).
Best 10 bucks I've ever spent. Check my Progress HERE
Every day after I get home from the molten refinery, I either rock Borderlands or plug away at a few projects. Again, since it's the end of summer, I will be focused on providing CrabLord.com with content and updates as soon as snow hits the ground. Until then, I'll be in Pandora.. [UPDATE] Completed! Still rockin' Play-Throughs! (if that's a word) ADD ME: Xbox: "Rewsifer" ::: GO!@
Happy Wars - Treasure Map
- July 2nd, 2013
"Happy Wars" is an online free-to-play game available through download on the Xbox 360.
Happy Wars is developed by ToyLogic and distributed freely by Microsoft.
I spent five minutes every day for two months straight logging into "Happy Wars" solely to obtain the daily rewards on the in-game "Treasure Map." I logged two months worth of rewards, so I can compare each month. The equipment given every seventh day of logging in, is always random. However, every basic spot on the Treasure Map gives out the same amount of "Happy Stars" (In-game currency), which have been confirmed to be the same for everyone.
Here's my recorded information:
- Day 1: 800 Happy Stars,
- Day 2: 900 Happy Stars,
- Day 3: 1,000 Happy Stars,
- Day 4: 1,100 Happy Stars,
- Day 5: 1,200 Happy Stars,
- Day 6: 1,300 Happy Stars,
- Day 7: Random Platinum Equipment. (eg. *Magic Robe Plus - Wgt.7)
- Day 8: 1,400 Happy Stars,
- Day 9: 1,500 Happy Stars,
- Day 10: 1,600 Happy Stars,
- Day 11: 1,700 Happy Stars,
- Day 12: 1,800 Happy Stars,
- Day 13: 1,800 Happy Stars,
- Day 14: Random Platinum Equipment. (eg. Titanium Armour - Wgt.7)
- Day 15: 1,800 Happy Stars
- Day 16: 2,000 Happy Stars,
- Day 17: 2,000 Happy Stars,
- Day 18: 2,000 Happy Stars,
- Day 19: 2,200 Happy Stars,
- Day 20: 2,200 Happy Stars,
- Day 21: Random SUPER Platinum Equipment. (eg. Fervor Armor Pro - Wgt.9)
Happy Stars can be used to upgrade weapons, modify equipment, and gamble for random items. Over the course of a month (if logged in for 21 days), you will acquire
a total of 28,300 Happy Stars. This is ALOT, and will help you power-up greatly. After a month of obtaining Treasure Map items and currency, I noticed a vast
increase in multi-player performance based on my Warrior. Logging in everyday for 5 minutes is definitely worth it.
I would like to note that the last day of the month will be redirected to the next months map; I found out the hard way. I would also like to note that the game looks like a developer cash-grab.. but the it can be played, completed, and mastered without a single micro-purchase, and it's quite enjoyable even without any fancy premium items. anyways...
Seven Years Ago... Grammar Fail
- June 2nd, 2013
I was going to throw these into a hidden page in the "About Us" section. But since I've been extremely busy with work, and unable to dish out fresh content, I decided to publicly post my collection of Grade 11 comics. Back then I had an amateur sense of humor, and it was probably around the time when I was in love with Robot Chicken... oh the humanity.
- May 16th, 2013
A friend of mine, who happens to be a sound engineer, wanted to know about my audio setup.. Instead of explaining in detail, I mapped it out... MS-PAINT style!
One of my original reasons for co-creating a website was to share my audio creations, hopefully I can put my equipment to good use and show off some new works sometime soon.
I'm working on some bigger things, both audio and visual. While you're here, check out my first Loop EVER. I used Famitracker midi software, along with my midi controller and audiobox interface.
Update: "Xbox - Miserable Achievements"
- April 26th, 2013
Last week, "Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit" was on sale in the Xbox Marketplace.
I bought myself a copy, and went through the entire game within a few days.
When playing through the game, all of the achievements are easily obtainable, except for one... A Luck-based achievement that is obtained through the in-game gambling system.
(You need to get "7-7-7" in a Slot Machine. It wasn't pretty.)
I recorded an hour of it (edited filler - 2000% speed), and this was well after a few hours of attempting this already.
While this is the main addition, I added a few more to the editorial. Check it.

Lufia Intro Guide!
- April 7th, 2013
As many of you know, Nintendo Power is no longer creating new magazines. They used the brilliant tactic of giving you all the necessary information to start a game in order to give you taste of what the game has to offer. In memory of their maps and guides, I’ve decided to create a series of my own easy-to-read intro guides to give you a feel for some of the games you may have missed.
My first guide is for Lufia & The Fortress of Doom. This was the first game to introduce me to the RPG genre. This underrated game thrives on its vivid story and balanced leveling system. It easily competes with any classic style RPG that doesn’t have a large choice of playable characters and classes.
You can look forward to a similar guide to Breath of Fire and Robotrek coming soon. Eventually I hope to complete a full guide for Lufia.
EarthBound Fantasy Achievements
- April 6th, 2013
Ever imagine getting "Trophies" or "Achievements" on classic Nintendo games? Well..
Here's 20 "Fantasy Achievements" for Earthbound on the SNES! Of course they won't pop up on your screen and upgrade your gamer profile, they're just a guide to maxing out the game itself. If you happen to have a cartridge, try to use them as a checklist, and maybe you'll find some hidden treasures along the way.

Ipega Bluetooth Controller
- March 31st, 2013
Well, it's about time I got off my css pedestal and started to contribute. My first post is about the Ipega Bluetooth controller.
I bought this little guy on eBay for $25 (free shipping!) to sync up with my Galaxy SII. It should work with other Android models as well as iPhones and laptops.
There are four different modes, each selected by holding down a letter key then holding down the home button. The search LED will blink rapidly and it should show up in your phone's bluetooth menu. I could only get keyboard mode working on my phone (A + Home).
If you want the thing to stop blinking, hold down the home button. You'll be glad to know it's rechargable using a usb mini cable which it comes with. I think I have 5 now.
Many SNES and NES games are not worth playing with the touchscreen joypad. Especially games like Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country where you need to hold down Y as you jump. This changes everything.
This device is going to renew my enthusiasm for retro gaming!
Early 2013 Collection
- March 1st, 2013
I am an active collector of Super Nintendo cartridges, boxes, manuals, guides, and pretty much anything I can find related to the masterful SNES (stickers, posters, soundtracks, etc.)
The Super Nintendo was the second console that our family grew up with, and I am honored to have my childhood forged by this amazing piece of gaming hardware.
...And thank Christ my parents didn't buy a Genesis.
V.2 On the way
- February 20th, 2013
Our EarthBound texture pack for MineCraft is coming along quite well, yet rather slowly. I need to familiarize myself with all of the new MineCraft features that have emerged within recent updates, and revamp loads of new tiles.
I've been replacing some tiles with sprites from the more twisted and evil portions of the game... "The Nether" now has an even darker tone, representing colors and textures from the areas "Devil's Machine" and "Cave of The Past" in the EarthBound world. I'm also struggling with finding the perfect "stone" texture, as well as fiddling with monster replacements.
We hope to provide a download very soon.

*Note that this battle isn't 12 minutes as shown, [ SKIP TO 10:48 ] for a 500% Fast-Forwarded version.*
Fighting Zakum was always a pipe-dream back in the day. The lobby was always over-crowded and the pre-requisite "jump quest" was near impossible.
Never would I have thought I would be able to "Solo" the bastard.
As you can see, I was extremely unprepared; I didn't bring many All-Heal potions or assign a puppet skill key.
It took a little while to take him down, this wasn't a speed-run or a chance to show off my damage, simply a first succesful Zakum-solo.
A big shout-out and Thanks to the guild for filling in the party slots in order to make this possible.
- January 21st, 2013
With all of the massive MineCraft updates, it was only a matter of time until our [EarthBound Texture Pack] was outdated.
The pack is still available for use, and is still working.. however, oak, lily pads, certain types of leaves, and misc. foliage are all blank/not supported.
SO, I will be working on V.2 of the texture pack.. but feel free to try out the original ->
A Trip Back To MapleStory
- January 13th, 2013
- Found an old video from my hard drive, poking the area boss "Captain Latanica" to death in the Singapore region of MapleStory.
Super Hexagon !
- December 13th, 2012
I've been religiously rockin' Super Hexagon; It's fast, addicting, and spews some kickass music.
- Add "Rewsifer" in your STEAM account "Friends List" for a chance to get a gifted copy of Super Hexagon (5 available).

- October 20th, 2012
AGAIN.. Instead of focusing on content, I've been driven towards a re-design.. I want this bitchin' index page to MORPH CONSTANTLY.
After a summer of constantly moving, looking for a place to work, and conquering 'Dark Souls' in my free and sane time, I've settled into a nice little pad with an office setup designed for the birth of CrabLord.com... We hope to entertain real soon.
It's been a year since we've owned the website and we plan on an official "launch" in the near future.
The upcoming weeks will birth an "Audio Dungeon" and some more pixel-related awesome.
Check back often,
- September 15th, 2012
I played through "Turtles 2" the other day and decided to make this the instant I saw Super Krang's aggro animation.
Have a good weekend.
Collection of Facebook Covers
- September 10th, 2012
I screen-shot and edited my own Shredder/Ninja Turtles cover photo, and figured I should make a bunch of them for the public to use... hopefully get the website a little more bumpin'
So use 'em up, and check back often because there's more to come.
More revamped game reviews!
While I was still in the fighting game mood, I edited the Power Rangers - Fighting Edition review, and rocked that game for another 2 playthroughs.
"It's a boldly colorful fighting game that kicks your eyes in the face!"
- August 9th, 2012
We're revamping all of our game reviews, grammar-wise and better on the eyes.
So here's an SNES classic that originally got me hooked on the fighting-game genre, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Tournament Fighters"
I'll try for 5 minutes next time
- August 7th, 2012
I've been looking through some VERY OLD screenshot collections, and figured I should do some 3 minute MS Paint challenge. Just to mix a few games together with a background (foreground in this case) and a few sprites... sadly... this is the aftermath:
Don't ask... I don't know either...
Local Retro-Gaming Exhibition
- July 27th, 2012
These are a few pixel-art submissions I made for a local exhibition display. They didn't have to be in bit/pixel form, but I felt it was appropriate to keep my contributions in the same style. I've been putting this off for a while, but still finished early for the mid-September deadline.
All submissions are to be printed and labelled onto Famicom cartridges, somewhat of a homage to retro-gaming and Famicom(Nintendo) fan-art.
I felt like I should make a simple display with a solid background and another a more intricate/serious piece... So I did... YES the BP oil spill was years ago, but whatever.
The "Crude" drawing is a bit choppy when blown up, and hopefully will look better on a smaller label sticker.
You can find out more about the "Famicart - Video Game Cartridge Art Exhibition" at ->
- June 29th, 2012
I've been messing around with pixels lately and have developed something of a style with an isometric perspective.
This is what I made just to test out size and scale for future creations. Feel free to use the "Tetris blocks" for any projects... any credit, of course, would be appreciated.
Kingdoms of Amalur
- June 15th, 2012
I've just played through 'Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning' and I'm fairly impressed. If you're a fan of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or the original Fable, you should take a look.
- June 12th, 2012
Even though I'd never used it, for legal reasons, It would've been awesome to have.
Upon further screwing around on GoDaddy.com, I noticed that Nintendo/Pokemon Co. owns ALMOST EVERY SINGLE Pokemon domain, used only to redirect to the official pokedex.
